Los Angeles Chargers work out CFL interception leader Demerio Houston

The Los Angeles Chargers worked out Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ cornerback Demerio Houston on Friday.

The 27-year-old defensive back played 15 games for the Bombers in 2023, leading the CFL with seven interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown. He racked up 50 defensive tackles and was named a CFL all-star for the first time in his career.

Houston originally signed with Winnipeg ahead of the cancelled 2020 season and has appeared in 30 games over the last three years. He is credited with 84 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, and nine interceptions.

Prior to his time in the CFL, Houston played four seasons with the Southern University Jaguars. He is currently scheduled to become a free agent in February 2024.
