Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-sign three-time CFL all-star OL Patrick Neufeld

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms on a one-year contract extension with Canadian offensive lineman Patrick Neufeld. He was set to become a free agent in February.

The six-foot-six, 311-pound blocker was named a CFL all-star for the third time in his career this past season, starting 17 regular season games at right guard. He will turn 35 later this month.

The Regina native has played 153 career CFL regular season games. After fighting through injuries for many of the early seasons in his career, Neufeld hasn’t missed any games due to injury over the past three years in Winnipeg.

Neufeld was originally selected by the Saskatchewan Roughriders in the fifth round of the 2010 CFL Draft out of the University of Saskatchewan. He was traded to Winnipeg midway through the 2013 season and has since won two Grey Cups as a member of the team.

Winnipeg now has one member of their starting offensive line under contract for 2024. As of the publishing of this article, Stanley Bryant, Geoff Gray, Chris Kolankowski, and Jermarcus Hardrick all remain pending free agents.
