The Montreal Alouettes have signed Canadian receiver Tyson Philpot to a two-year contract extension through 2025.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound target made 47 receptions for 532 yards and five touchdowns over 13 games this past season. He also caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the 110th Grey Cup and was named the game’s Most Valuable Canadian.

“Tyson fully deserves this vote of confidence. He is constantly improving and in his case, the best is yet to come,” said senior director football operations, player personnel Éric Deslauriers in a statement. “He has gained experience this year and even though he is only in his second pro season, he has never been afraid to take on more responsibility.”
