The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian fullback Lucas Robertson.
The six-foot-four, 239-pound native of Edmonton was an eighth-round pick in the 2023 CFL Draft out of the University of British Columbia. He attended training camp with the Stampeders and dressed for one preseason game.
The 22-year-old returned to the Thunderbirds for his final season of U Sports eligibility in 2023 and helped the team make an appearance in the Vanier Cup. He caught 15 passes for 133 yards and was named a first-team U Sports All-Canadian.
Robertson finished his U Sports career with 28 catches for 223 yards and one touchdown along with eight tackles.
The Stampeders lost veteran fullback Charlie Power to retirement earlier this off-season.
