Changements mineurs seulement: Montreal Alouettes slightly tweak roster for Grey Cup

The Montreal Alouettes are fielding a consistent roster for the 110th Grey Cup against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Sunday.

All of the team’s starters remain the same from last week’s East Final, along with virtually all of backups. Canadian offensive lineman Sean Jamieson has come onto the roster in place of fellow blocker Jesse Gibbon, while Canadian defensive lineman Vincent Desjardins will dress in place of defensive back Tysen-Otis Copeland.

The Alouettes have won seven consecutive games dating back to the regular season. The team upset the Toronto Argonauts in last week’s East Final, forcing nine takeaways to record a shocking 38-17 win at BMO Field.

Montreal lost both of their regular season matchups against Winnipeg, losing 17-3 at Percival Molson Stadium on Canada Day and again at IG Field by a score of 47-17 on Aug. 24. The Alouettes have improved dramatically since, adding free agent defensive lineman Shawn Lemon and middle linebacker Darnell Sankey.

The marks the first time the Alouettes have qualified for the Grey Cup since 2010, when they won their second-straight title against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The Winnipeg Blue Bombers and Montreal Alouettes will meet in the 110th Grey Cup on Sunday, Nov. 19 at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton. Kickoff is slated for 6:00 p.m. EST. Click here for 3DownNation’s picks for the big game.
