Toronto Argonauts’ head coach Ryan Dinwiddie has been named the CFL’s Coach of the Year for the 2023 CFL season, winning the vote by a margin of 58 to three over Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ head coach Mike O’Shea.

The Argonauts tied a CFL record for the most regular-season victories in 2023, matching the 16-2 mark set by the 1989 Edmonton Football Team. The team was undefeated at home (9-0) and against divisional opponents (10-0), before being upset in the East Final by the Montreal Alouettes.

It was Dinwiddie’s third straight first-place finish in the East Division since taking over the team in 2021, a feat only achieved by nine other coaches in league history. He is the eighth Argonaut to win the award and the first since 2017.
