Ottawa Redblacks’ quarterback Dustin Crum has been named the CFL’s top performer for Week 16 by Pro Football Focus (PFF).
The 24-year-old rookie out of Kent State completed 21-of-26 pass attempts for 243 yards and two touchdowns in Ottawa’s 36-28 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He also carried the ball five times for 53 yards and one touchdown.
Ottawa defensive lineman Bryce Carter was named the defensive player of the week for his game-wrecking performance against the Riders in which he recorded three tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble. The 25-year-old has now made 11 sacks on the season, which ranks second league-wide behind only Mathieu Betts of the B.C. Lions.
The Redblacks also had the highest-graded offensive line of the week, earning a group grade of 75.6. Dontae Bull, the first overall pick in this year’s draft, earned the best individual grade at right tackle (75.6) followed by centre Cyrille Hogan-Saindon (66.8) and left tackle Dino Boyd (63.7).
