The Edmonton Elks have released American defensive back Dwayne Thompson II.

The six-foot-one, 195-pound cover man started the first eight games of the season at boundary halfback and recorded 27 defensive tackles. He was moved to the practice roster near the start of August.

The native of Farmington Hills, Mich. signed with the Elks in May after finishing his career at Valdosta State University in 2022 where he made 15 total tackles in four games with the Blazers.
