The Montreal Alouettes will have their workhorse back returning to the lineup after missing last week with a hand injury.
William Standback will dress for his 12th start of the season. The two-time CFL all-star has had a relatively quiet 2023 season, carrying 113 times for 586 yards and one touchdown while catching 21 passes for 209 yards.
As a result, backup running back Walter Fletcher will be a healthy scratch. The 26-year-old has dressed for just five games this season but has shown flashes of productivity, carrying 31 times for 135 yards and adding 12 receptions for 133 more.
The Alouettes have not made any other changes to their roster since last week’s loss to Toronto. Defensive end Avery Ellis will remain a healthy scratch.
Still on the six-game injured list for Montreal are receivers Greg Ellingson, Reggie White Jr., and Keshunn Abram, offensive linemen Landon Rice, Sean Jamieson, and David Brown, defensive backs Nafees Lyon and Raheem Wilson, linebackers Najee Murray, J.R. Reed, and Tyrell Richards, and defensive tackle Marquez Valdez.
The Alouettes (6-7) will visit the Stampeders (4-9) on Saturday, September 23 at 4:00 p.m. EDT. The two teams met in Week 8, with Montreal securing a 25-18 victory.
