Buffalo Bills add Canadian DT Eli Ankou, former CFL DL Kendal Vickers to practice squad

The Buffalo Bills have added Canadian defensive tackle Eli Ankou and former CFL offensive lineman Kendal Vickers to their practice roster after both players were waived on Tuesday.

Ankou has been with the Bills for parts of the last two seasons, dressing for five games and recording four total tackles, one tackle for loss, and one sack.

The UCLA product broke into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Houston Texans in 2017. He has since been a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, Dallas Cowboys, Atlanta Falcons, Bills, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Tennessee Titans.

The six-foot-three, 325-pounder has appeared in 33 NFL career games with three starts, recording 43 total tackles, three tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, and 2.5 sacks.

Ankou was selected in the third round of the 2017 CFL Draft by the Ottawa Redblacks, who still own his CFL rights.

Vickers had stints with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Tennessee Titans after going unselected in the 2018 NFL Draft out of the University of Tennessee. He joined the Edmonton Football Team in 2019 and played 12 games north of the border, recording 12 tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.

The six-foot-three, 295-pound defensive tackle returned to the NFL in 2020 and has since had stints with the Las Vegas Raiders and Bills, recording 20 total tackles, three tackles for loss, and two sacks over 20 career games.
