The Saskatchewan Roughriders have opened as heavy home underdogs this week against the B.C. Lions.
The club is coming off a 41-12 loss to the Montreal Alouettes, a game in which Mason Fine suffered a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out for two to three weeks. Jake Dolegala, who signed with the Riders last year following a three-year stint in the NFL, is expected to make his first start of the season.
The six-foot-seven, 242-pound passer struggled in relief of Fine against the Alouettes, completing 11-of-20 pass attempts for 107 yards and one interception. He has now competed 51.7 percent of his passes for 361 yards, two touchdowns, and three interceptions since making his CFL debut with the club last year.
Saskatchewan traded for Antonio Pipkin from the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on Sunday, which means he is likely to dress as the club’s third quarterback against B.C.

The Lions dismantled the Calgary Stampeders this past week, building an early 17-point lead to win by a score of 37-9. Vernon Adams Jr. threw for 322 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception in his return from a knee injury, while Keon Hatcher led the way in the receiving corps with nine catches for 170 yards and one touchdown.
Saskatchewan and B.C. played against one another in Vancouver in Week 7 with the Lions winning by a score of 19-9. The game marked Mason Fine’s first start of the season in place of an injured Trevor Harris, while Dane Evans played most of the game after Adams Jr. went down with the knee injury from which he recently recovered.
The Riders (4-5) are scheduled to host B.C. (7-2) on Sunday, Aug. 20 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT. Saskatchewan has a 2-2 record at home so far this season.
The betting lines for the rest of Week 11 are as follows. The Toronto Argonauts aren’t scheduled to play this week as they are on their final bye of the season.
