Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ QB Zach Collaros named CFL’s top performer for Week 9 by PFF

Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ quarterback Zach Collaros has been named the CFL’s top performer for Week 9 by Pro Football Focus (PFF).

The two-time reigning league Most Outstanding Player earned a grade of 92.9 after repeatedly torching the B.C. Lions en route to a 50-14 win. He completed 19-of-27 pass attempts for 369 yards, three touchdown, and one interception for an efficiency rating of 134.4. It was his third consecutive 300-yard passing game and fourth of the season thus far.

Toronto Argonauts’ defensive back Royce Metchie was the top-graded defensive player of the week with a score of 86.6. The Guelph product recorded nine tackles on 64 defensive snaps, setting a new season-high in his team’s 20-7 loss to the Calgary Stampeders.

The Blue Bombers had the top-graded offensive line of the week with a group score of 84.2. Right tackle Jermarcus Hardrick had the highest individual grade at 67.4, followed by left tackle Stanley Bryant (66.5) and left guard Geoff Gray (66.3).

The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.

The league unveils the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.

The top-graded players from each position were as follows for Week 9.
