Saskatchewan Roughriders bring back OL Jordan Tucker, release K Campbell Fair

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American offensive tackle Jordan Tucker.

The six-foot-six, 340-pound blocker suffered an injury during training camp and was subsequently released by the team. Given that he has been brought back by the team, he has presumably made a full recovery.

The 24-year-old played four collegiate seasons at the University of North Carolina (2018-21), dressing for 45 games and making 35 starts.

Tucker made nine starts at right tackle in 2021 and helped the team average 537.3 total yards per game, which led the ACC and set a new school record. Following his senior season, Tucker participated in the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl.

The native of Roswell, Ga. went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft but signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers as an undrafted free agent. He attended training camp with the team but was released near its conclusion.

Saskatchewan also released Canadian kicker Campbell Fair after he joined the team’s practice roster early last month.

The six-foot-one, 180-pound specialist was selected in the sixth round of the 2023 CFL Draft by the Calgary Stampeders. He attended training camp with the team and made a 36-yard field goal in preseason action.

The native of Carrying Place, Ont. played four collegiate seasons at the University of Ottawa and was named a second-team OUA all-star in 2022. He made 48-of-68 career field goal attempts and punted 98 times for a 37.7-yard average.

The Riders (3-4) are scheduled to host the Ottawa Redblacks (3-4) on Sunday, Aug. 6 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
