Montreal Alouettes’ defensive back Kabion Ento has been named the CFL’s top performer for Week 8 by Pro Football Focus (PFF) with a defensive grade of 91.8.
The 27-year-old CFL rookie out of Colorado was a standout in the team’s 25-18 win over the Calgary Stampeders, recording three defensive tackles, two pass knockdowns, and one interception, which he returned 53 yards for a touchdown.
B.C. Lions’ quarterback Dane Evans was the highest-graded offensive player of the week, earning a grade of 90.1 following his team’s 27-0 victory over the Edmonton Elks. The veteran passer completed 25-of-32 pass attempts for 330 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions in his first start of the year in place of an injured Vernon Adams Jr.
The Lions also had the league’s highest-graded offensive line this past week, earning a grade of 71.8. Left tackle Jarrell Broxton had the best individual grade at 73.7, while centre Michael Couture and right tackle Kent Perkins earned grades of 72.7 and 63.3, respectively.
The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.
The league unveils the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.
