Published on

The Edmonton Elks have released American defensive end Tobi Antigha and American receiver Maurice Ffrench.

Antigha spent most of the season on the practice roster but dressed for one game, recording three defensive tackles and one special teams tackle against the Toronto Argonauts in Week 3.

The 29-year-old broke into the CFL as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2017 and has since been a member of the Toronto Argonauts, Winnipeg Blue Bombers, and Elks. He has recorded 88 total tackles, seven sacks, and six interceptions over 67 career regular season games.

Ffrench signed with Edmonton in November 2022 and started the last four games at slotback after opening the season on the practice roster. The five-foot-eleven, 200-pound target made 15 catches for 190 yards and one touchdown over those outings.

The Elks (0-7) are scheduled to host the B.C. Lions (5-1) on Saturday, July 29 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
