Toronto Argonauts’ quarterback Chad Kelly has been given the highest single-game grade of the 2023 CFL season by Pro Football Focus (PFF).

The 29-year-old passer received a grade of 93.4 in his team’s 34-27 victory over the Montreal Alouettes, topping the previous single-game high of 92.5 set by teammate Royce Metchie in Week 3.

Kelly completed 21-of-25 pass attempts for 351 yards, three touchdowns, and one interception, eclipsing the 300-yard mark for the first time this season. He had three completions of 30-plus yards and was also effective along the ground, rushing for 13 yards and a touchdown. He finished the contest with an efficiency rating of 141.7.

Calgary Stampeders’ linebacker Micah Awe was the highest-graded defensive player of the week, earning a grade of 81.1. He made nine defensive tackles and one special teams tackle to help his team earn a 33-31 victory over the Saskatchewan Roughriders, limiting them to 300 net yards and 17 offensive points.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats had the highest-graded offensive line of the week, earning a grade of 83.1. The top performers were left guard Brandon Revenberg (80.4), left tackle Tyrone Riley (78.0), and centre David Beard (69.3).

The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.

The league unveils the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.
