Calgary Stampeders sign former Alabama, Texas tight end Jahleel Billingsley

The Calgary Stampeders have signed American receiver Jahleel Billingsley to their practice roster.

The six-foot-four, 230-pound target played three seasons for the Alabama Crimson Tide and made 37 receptions for 559 yards and six touchdowns over 36 games. He transferred to the University of Texas for his senior season in 2022 and made three catches for 38 yards in four games for the Longhorns.

The native of Chicago, Ill. was selected by the San Antonio Brahmas in the 2023 XFL Rookie Draft last month but elected not to sign with the team.

Billingsley ran a 4.57-second forty-yard dash at his pro day and leapt 36 inches in the vertical jump.

Calgary (1-3) will visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders (3-1) on Saturday, July 15 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT. The clubs met in Week 3 with the Riders earning a 29-26 victory in double overtime.
