Saskatchewan Roughriders add Western Kentucky standout Jerreth Sterns

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American wide receiver Jerreth Sterns.

The five-foot-nine, 175-pound target had a standout season at Western Kentucky University in 2021 when he caught 150 passes for 1,902 yards and 17 touchdowns over 14 games. He led the entire NCAA in all three categories, while his receptions total was the third-highest in FBS history. He was named first-team All-C-USA and a second-team All-American.

Sterns previously played at Houston Baptist University from 2018 to 2020 and made 220 receptions for 1,971 yards and 18 touchdowns along with 23 carries for 56 yards and two touchdowns over 27 games. He also completed four passes for 110 yards and two touchdowns.

The 23-year-old went unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft bu signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He has also spent time with the Los Angeles Rams.

Sterns was born in Waxahachie, Texas.
