The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have ruled out defensive back Demerio Houston from Thursday’s game against the B.C. Lions with a “not injury-related” designation. He did not practice with the team this week.
Houston made two interceptions during the club’s season-opening win over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He will be replaced at boundary cornerback by Abu Daramy-Swaray, who is in his first CFL season.
Canadian running back Brady Oliveira, who missed practice this week with a thorax injury, has been listed as a game-time decision. Meanwhile, star defensive end Jackson Jeffcoat remains on the six-game injured list, while defensive tackle Alexander Fox, who dressed for his first game with the club last week, has been moved to the practice roster.
Winnipeg won the three-game regular season series between the two clubs in 2022 by a margin of 2-1. The teams met again in the West Final at IG Field where the Blue Bombers won 28-20 to punch their ticket to the Grey Cup in Regina.
Thursday’s game between the CFL’s only 2-0 teams is slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT at IG Field in Winnipeg.
