The B.C. Lions appear to be getting a key receiver back in the lineup, though another could be out of the lineup when the take on the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday.

Lucky Whitehead was a full participant in practice on Monday, returning from a hamstring problem that kept him out of last week’s 22-0 victory over the Edmonton Elks. He made three catches for 28 yards in the club’s season-opening victory over the Calgary Stampeders.

Dominique Rhymes did not practice on Monday due to a foot injury he sustained this past weekend. The 29-year-old is the club’s leading receiver on the year, having made 12 receptions for 163 yards and three touchdowns. The six-foot-four, 215-pound target was named a CFL all-star for the first time in 2022.

The Lions won’t unveil their depth chart until Wednesday, though it stands to reason that rookie Ayden Eberhardt will remain in the lineup if Whitehead is in and Rhymes is out. The Wyoming product made three receptions for 37 yards in his CFL debut against Edmonton this past weekend.

Whitehead has played 43 career games as a member of the Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, notching 192 receptions for 2,480 yards and nine touchdowns. He was named a CFL all-star in 2021, which was his first 1,000-yard season.

The Lions (2-0) are scheduled to visit the Blue Bombers (2-0) on Thursday with kickoff slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
