The Edmonton Elks have signed Global defensive lineman Adam Raine.
The six-foot-four, 306-pound defender was 3DownNation‘s sixth-ranked prospect in the 2023 CFL Global Draft, though he went unselected.
The native of Basingstoke, England, Raine made 71 total tackles, five sacks, three pass knockdowns, and one fumble recovery over 32 games at Yale University. He was named honourable mention All-Ivy League in 2022.
The move coincided with the release of Global kicker Rafael Gaglianone, who was Edmonton’s second-round pick in the 2022 CFL Global Draft out of Brazil. The 28-year-old played collegiately at Wisconsin where he was named second-team All-Big Ten in 2017.
