The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian defensive back Joachim Christian and American offensive lineman Tyson Pauling.
The six-foot-one, 201-pound Christian played three seasons at Carleton University, recording 66 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and three pass breakups in 20 games with the Ravens. The Montreal, Quebec native was the leading tackler for the team during the 2022 season with 36.5 takedowns in six games, while also registering two tackles for loss and two pass breakups.
Pauling played 34 games over five seasons at Portland State University, primarily seeing duty at centre and guard. He made 27 starts for the Vikings, including starting the final 23 games of his collegiate career.

The six-foot-five, 295-pound native of Riverside, California served as team captain and earned first-team All-Big Sky recognition in 2022. The 24-year-old was named to the conference all-academic team in 2021.
The Stampeders also released American defensive back De’Vante Cross and placed American defensive lineman Mike Moore on the retired list. Moore announced his retirement on social media earlier this week.
