Several CFL teams have unveiled new uniforms this month but the Edmonton Elks are offering fans a chance to be a part of theirs… for a price.
On Thursday, the club announced that fans will be able to pay for the right to have their names written in the iconic Double E logo on the side of players’ helmets during their June 11 home opener against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The experience costs $250 and is limited to just 90 participants. Those fortunate enough to secure their spot on the helmet will take home a framed set of game-worn helmet decals after the event, along with the signature of one of the players in the game.
The initiative is the latest in a string of innovative promotions championed by Elks’ president Victor Cui, who has opted for a grassroots approach to solving the team’s declining attendance.
After going winless at Commonwealth Stadium the past two seasons, the team released a limited number of “guaranteed win” tickets to their home opener in December. In the event of a defeat, fans who purchased those seats will receive tickets to every Elks’ home game until they witness a victory.
Now a select group of fans will have some skin in the game as well, with their good names proudly displayed on the very players they cheer for.
