The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American placekicker Chandler Staton.

The Gainesville, GA native comes to Manitoba after an NCAA career with the Appalachian State University Mountaineers (2017-2021) that earned him a look from the Green Bay Packers last year as an undrafted NFL free agent.

The five-foot-11, 195-pound Staton connected on 64-of-81 field goals (79 percent) during his days at Appalachian State, with a career-best of 53 yards. He left as the school’s career leader in points (464), field goals (64), and field goal percentage.
