Montreal Alouettes agree to terms with Canadian OL Justin Lawrence

The Montreal Alouettes have agreed to terms on a contract with Canadian offensive lineman Justin Lawrence, per sources. The deal in for two years through the 2024 season.

The six-foot, 300-pound blocker was named an East Division all-star at centre this past season as a member of the Toronto Argonauts. He started 17 regular season games along with the East Final and Grey Cup, helping the club capture a CFL title with a win over the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Mosaic Stadium in Regina.

The 26-year-old was a fifth-round pick of the Calgary Stampeders in the 2018 CFL Draft out of the University of Alberta. He dressed for 31 games over three seasons with the team, winning a Grey Cup as a rookie in 2018.

Pending free agents from around the league were permitted to negotiate with teams across the country as part of the CFL’s “legal tampering” period that ran from Feb. 5 to Feb. 12. The window closed on Sunday at noon eastern time, though Lawrence’s deal was agreed upon before this deadline.

Lawrence was 3DownNation‘s No. 5-ranked pending free agent offensive lineman.
