The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed American offensive tackle Eric Lofton, per sources.

The six-foot-four, 293-pound blocker spent this past season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, primarily as a member of their practice roster. He dressed for one game, starting at right tackle after the club had already clinched first place in the West Division. He has been a free agent since November as he finished the 2022 season on Winnipeg’s practice roster.

The 29-year-old broke into the CFL as a member of the Ottawa Redblacks in 2017 and dressed for four games over two seasons with the club. He signed with the B.C. Lions in November 2018 but was released by the team in June 2019 before a stint with the Edmonton Elks. He dressed for two games with the club and remained under contract for the 2020 season, though it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
