The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have re-signed star kick returner Janarion Grant ahead of free agency.

The 29-year-old led amassed five total return touchdowns in 2023, recording three in the regular season and two more in the playoffs — including a championship record 102-yard return during the team’s Grey Cup loss to Toronto.

Grant was named a CFL All-Star after recording 817 punt return yards and 782 kickoff return yards in 16 regular season games. Last season, he became the Blue Bombers’ all-time leader in regular-season kick return touchdowns with seven.

The Rutgers product is entering his fourth season with the club after joining the Bomber in July of 2019. In just 11 games as a rookie, Grant led the Blue Bombers in both punt and kickoff returns that season.

Grant originally signed with the Baltimore Ravens as an undrafted free agent in 2018. He made the team’s final roster as the primary punt and kick returner but was released in late September of that season. He spent his first CFL training camp with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, but did not make the final roster.
