The Calgary Stampeders have re-signed American linebacker Silas Stewart, the club announced on Monday. He was scheduled to become a free agent on Feb. 14.

The six-foot-one, 223-pound defender made 35 defensive tackles, 20 special teams tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble over 18 regular season games in 2022. He made three starts at middle linebacker while Jameer Thurman was out due to injury.

“I’m excited to be back here in Calgary,” said Stewart in a statement. “Now it’s time to get to work.”
