The B.C. Lions have signed Canadian offensive lineman David Knevel to a contract extension for the 2023 season, the team announced on Monday. He was scheduled to become a free agent on Tuesday, Feb. 14.

The six-foot-eight, 325-pound blocker missed the entire 2022 after undergoing labrum surgery.

“It was very hard to not be out there with my teammates but it says a lot that the organization has faith in me to get back on the field,” said Knevel in a release. “Watching the way my teammates competed has given me so much motivation. I can’t wait to join them this coming season.”
