Riders re-sign American defensive back Jeremy Clark

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have extended American defensive back Jeremy Clark through the 2023 season.

The six-foot-three, 220-pound defensive back is entering his third season with the Riders after posting a career year in 2022. He started 17 regular season games, recording 30 defensive tackles, two special teams tackles, one forced fumble, three pass knockdowns, and one tackle for loss.

Clark originally joined the Green and White in 2021, seeing action in five games. He posted 10 tackles, one interception and one forced fumble, while making three tackles in one playoff appearance.

The 26-year-old played five seasons for Michigan, making 49 tackles, nine pass breakups, and three interceptions in 36 collegiate games.  He was drafted 197th overall in the sixth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the New York Jets and played in two games over the next two seasons before being waived in 2019. 

Clark joined the XFL’s Seattle Dragons in 20220, registering 10 tackles, two tackles for a loss, one interception and three pass knockdowns in five games. He sign with the Riders after that league folded.
