Former CFL linebacker Tre Watson was selected by the St. Louis Battlehawks in the tenth round of the XFL’s recent supplemental draft.

The veteran indicated via text message to 3DownNation that he plans to sign with St. Louis “unless something changes dramatically.”

Watson opened this past CFL season as the starting middle linebacker for the Montreal Alouettes, though he was released in July following two incidents with unnamed personnel. He signed with the Edmonton Elks immediately after and started three games at middle linebacker, though he missed a significant amount of time due to injury.
