The Toronto Argonauts have extended versatile Canadian special teamer Brandon Calver, who spent time on both sides of the ball in 2022.

The 29-year-old recorded six special teams tackle last season while dressing in 17 regular season games for the Boatmen. He also saw action in the team’s East Final and Grey Cup victories after transitioning from linebacker to fullback mid-way through the year.

The six-foot-three, 220-pounder had an outstanding university career at linebacker for the Wilfrid Laurier Golden Hawks, registering 210.5 tackles, 11.5 sacks, four forced fumble, six fumble recoveries and an interception in 36 career games. He originally signed with the Montreal Alouettes as an undrafted free agent in 2018, playing 22 games for the team. He then spent time with the Ottawa Redblacks and Winnipeg Blue Bombers during the 2019 season, before joining the Argos in 2021.
