Elementary: Riders sign standout Samford receiver Kendall Watson

The Saskatchewan Roughriders have added American wide receiver Kendall Watson ahead of the 2023 season

The five-foot-10, 183-pound target walked on at Samford University in 2017, dressing for 47 games over five seasons with the Bulldogs. After playing a complementary role in his first four campaigns, Watson had a breakout super senior season in 2022, catching 88 receptions for 1,034 yards and 10 touchdowns. He set new career highs in each category on his way to a second-team All-Conference selection.

The native of Chattanooga, Tennessee native finishes his college career with 167 receptions for 2,064 yards and 14 touchdowns. He becomes the rare rookie to sign in the CFL before the NFL Draft process has played out.
