The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have agreed to terms on a two-year contract extension with linebacker Adam Bighill, the team announced on Tuesday. He was in the final year of his contract this past season and was slated to become a free agent in February 2023.

The five-foot-ten, 219-pound defender joined the Blue Bombers as a free agent in 2018 following a stint in the NFL. He has since made 308 defensive tackles, 12 sacks, seven interceptions, six forced fumbles, and two touchdowns.

The 34-year-old was already well-decorated by the time he arrived in Winnipeg having played six seasons with the B.C. Lions. He is an eight-time West Division all-star, six-time CFL all-star, three-time CFL Most Outstanding Defensive Player, and three-time Grey Cup champion.
