The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will wear their road white uniforms for the 109th Grey Cup against the Toronto Argonauts at Mosaic Stadium in Regina, a team spokesperson revealed on Monday.

The club has worn white uniforms in back-to-back Grey Cup victories over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. Winnipeg won the Grey Cup in 2019 by a score of 33-12 as 3.5-point underdogs at McMahon Stadium in Calgary and by a score of 33-25 as four-point favourites at Tim Hortons Field in Hamilton in 2021.

As the West Division’s representative, Winnipeg will use the home locker room and facilities at Mosaic Stadium. Head coach Mike O’Shea is hopeful that the team’s fans will travel to Regina for the game in order to create a “home crowd.”

Winnipeg’s fans have garnered a reputation as being the loudest in the CFL and routinely make it difficult for opponents to operate on offence. This was certainly the case during the West Final on Sunday as the B.C. Lions were only able to run three plays in the final minute of the game.

The Blue Bombers have opened as 4.5-point favourites for this year’s CFL championship game. They defeated the Argonauts by a score of 23-22 at BMO Field in their only meeting during the regular season on July 4.

This year’s Grey Cup is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. EST on Sunday, Nov. 20.
