The Hamilton Tiger-Cats are going to make their push for the playoffs with a capacity crowd behind them as the team has sold out Friday’s regular season home finale against the Ottawa Redblacks.

The team has added a limited number of standing-room tickets in the End Zone Social area behind the north end zone of Tim Hortons Field.

This is just the second sellout for the Ticats in 2022, following the team selling out September’s Labour Day Classic against the Toronto Argonauts. That game featured a Tim Hortons Field attendance record for a Tiger-Cats game of 25,266 who watched as the home side lost 28-8 for their first Labour Day loss since 2012.

Friday is also the team’s second time wearing their “Made In The Hammer” alternate uniforms this season. The Ticats previously wore them during their Week 4 game against the Edmonton Elks.

Despite a season that has seen the Tabbies spend the majority of it trying to climb out of the East Division’s basement, the team has posted respectable attendance numbers, averaging over 22,000 fans per game. The listed capacity for Tim Hortons Field is 23,218.

The black and gold need to win their remaining two games to clinch their spot in the postseason or win one of their remaining two games and have the Saskatchewan Roughriders lose one of their last two games.

A Tiger-Cats victory on Friday night against the Redblacks would also eliminate the Redblacks from playoff contention for the third season in a row.
