The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released American running back Shaun Wilson from the team’s practice roster.

Wilson originally signed with the Riders in August but never dressed for a game. He began his professional career as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2018 and saw action in five games that season, rushing six times for 29 yards while adding 122 yards on seven kick returns. He has also been a member of the Washington Commanders (2019), Tennessee Titans (2020), and B.C. Lions (2021).

The five-foot-nine, 185-pound ball carrier played four collegiate seasons (2014-17) at Duke University. He carried the ball 475 times for 2,463 yards and 18 touchdowns and added 81 receptions for 725 yards and six touchdowns in 49 games with the Blue Devils. He was also a contributor on special teams, returning 67 kicks for 1,697 yards and two touchdowns.
