The CFL has issued fines to a pair of Montreal Alouettes for high hits committed against members of the Ottawa Redblacks during the league’s Thanksgiving day game.

Linebacker Micah Awe was fined for a blow to the head of receiver Jaelon Acklin in the third quarter, which was penalized in-game. The play negated a Tyrice Beverette fumble recovery and left Acklin injured, as he will miss this week’s rematch.

Defensive back Adarius Pickett was also fined for a high hit on Acklin, as well as two other infractions. He was charged with a high hit on receiver Justin Hardy and punished for violating the league’s media policy, presumably due to making comments critical of the officiating post-game.
