Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ defensive tackle Ricky Walker fined for illegal block

Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ defensive tackle Ricky Walker was fined by the CFL for an illegal block this past week on Saskatchewan Roughriders’ offensive lineman Terran Vaughn. As per league policy, the amount of the fine was not disclosed.

Walker has dressed for nine games in a backup role this season and recorded nine defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, and one sack. He has been a healthy scratch for five games this season.

The Virginia Tech product is in his second season with the Blue Bombers, having dressed for seven games as a rookie in 2021. He made eight defensive tackles and one sack that year.

The Blue Bombers defeated Saskatchewan by a score of 31-13 this past week to complete the season sweep of their prairie rivals.

Winnipeg (13-2) will host the Edmonton Elks (4-11) on Saturday while the Riders (6-9) will visit the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (4-10).
