Adam Williams of the Toronto Varsity Blues has been named the U Sports offensive player of the week after rushing for 243 yards and two touchdowns in his team’s 32-24 victory over the Waterloo Warriors.

It was a career day for the five-foot-ten, 221-pound ball carrier as he had never previously broken the 100-yard rushing mark in a single game. The fourth-year running back now has 39 carries for 402 yards and two touchdowns on the season along with two receptions for 25 yards and a touchdown.

Gabriel Royer was named the U Sports defensive player of the week after recording 10.5 tackles, two sacks, one interception, and one forced fumble in Bishop’s 19-6 victory over Mount Allison. The second-year linebacker helped lead a dominant Gaiters defence that allowed only 145 yards of total offence in the win.
