The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed American defensive lineman Keion Adams one day after he was released by the Saskatchewan Roughriders. He will be added to the team’s practice roster.

The 27-year-old started four games for Saskatchewan earlier this season while Pete Robertson and A.C. Leonard were out due to injury. He dressed for a total of nine games on the year and recorded 17 defensive tackles and two sacks.

The Western Michigan product signed with the Riders as a free agent in December 2020 and played nine games as a rookie, recording nine defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, and two sacks.

Adams was a seventh-round pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2017 NFL Draft and spent his rookie season on injured reserve due to a shoulder injury. He spent the following season on Pittsburgh’s practice roster.

The six-foot-two, 245-pound defender was released by the Steelers in May 2019 and signed with the New York Giants the following month. He suffered a knee injury during the preseason and was placed on injured reserve before being waived in October.

The Blue Bombers (12-2) are set to host the Riders (6-8) on Friday at IG Field with kickoff slated for 8:00 p.m. EDT.
