Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ receiver Greg Ellingson pulled up lame while running routes at practice on Monday while participating in drills, according to Jeff Hamilton of The Winnipeg Free Press.

The 33-year-old did not participate in practice on Sunday due to a hip injury, which is the same ailment that held him out of three consecutive games earlier this season. He returned to the practice field on Monday but did not complete the training session.

Ellingson was the CFL’s leader in receptions and receiving yards when he first suffered the hip injury prior to Winnipeg’s game against the Edmonton Elks in Week 7. He returned to the lineup against the Montreal Alouettes just prior to their bye week and made three catches for 54 yards.

The veteran receiver joined the Blue Bombers as a free agent in February following a two-year stint with Edmonton. He has made 37 catches for 572 yards and three touchdowns so far this season and currently sits tenth league-wide in receiving yards.

The Blue Bombers (9-1) are scheduled to host the Calgary Stampeders (6-3) on Thursday, Aug. 25 at IG Field with kickoff slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
