Calgary Stampeders’ head coach Dave Dickenson is missing a third consecutive day of practice due to COVID protocol, according to TSN’s Salim Valji.

According to the league’s COVID policy, individuals who test positive are required to isolate for five-to-seven days or until they can produce a negative test. As such, it remains unclear whether or not the veteran head coach will be eligible to travel with the team for Friday’s game against the Ottawa Redblacks.

Assistant head coach and special teams coordinator Mark Kilam has run practices during Dickenson’s absence. The native of Lethbridge, Alta. has been with the organization for 18 years and steadily worked his way up the coaching ranks after originally serving as the team’s strength and conditioning coach.

Dickenson has served as the head coach of the Stampeders since replacing John Hufnagel on the sidelines in 2016. He has produced a regular season record of 65-25-2 and one Grey Cup title in three appearances.

The Stampeders (4-2) are scheduled to visit the Redblacks (1-6) on Friday with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
