Ticats-Bombers game delayed by 30 minutes due to poor weather

Friday night’s game between the Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Winnipeg Blue Bombers has been delayed by 30 minutes due to poor weather.

The game was originally scheduled to begin at 7:38 p.m. local time but the opening kickoff is now slated for 8:08 p.m. Players have yet to take the field as of the publishing of this article with warmups expected to start between 7:25 p.m. and 7:40 p.m.

IG Field was under shelter-in-place protocol for an extended period of time, which required fans to be under cover. The protocol was lifted at 7:15 p.m.

A slow-moving thunderstorm moved northeast over IG Field early Friday evening. A number of thunderstorms remain in the area and could impact the rest of the game.

IG Field hosted the longest regular season game in CFL history on June 14, 2018 when the Edmonton Football Team defeated the Blue Bombers by a score of 33-30. The game started at 7:38 p.m. and did not end until 1:18 a.m. due to multiple lightning delays.
