CFL receiver Daniel Braverman retires from professional football

CFL receiver Daniel Braverman has retired from professional football, he announced via his Twitter account.

Retired from football. I love the game so much. Time to transition from playing to helping others learn, play and love the game. It was a great journey, I appreciate everyone I met, I love everyone who was apart of my journey and I hope to meet many more while I go into coaching.

The five-foot-ten, 185-pound target was a seventh-round pick of the Chicago Bears in the 2016 NFL Draft out of Western Michigan. He dressed for three games with the club as a rookie before stints with the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals.

Braverman signed with the Calgary Stampeders in 2019 and spent most of the season on the practice roster. He was a member of the St. Louis BattleHawks of the XFL in 2020 before signing with the Toronto Argonauts in 2021.

The native of Miramar, Fla. dressed for four games with the Argos, recording 15 catches for 152 yards. He also returned 10 kickoffs for 228 yards, 16 punts for 114 yards, and one missed field goal for 23 yards.

Braverman was released by Toronto in April 2022 and remained a free agent until announcing his retirement.
