The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have signed the 13th overall selection in the 2022 CFL Draft in Waterloo defensive back Tyrell Ford.
The five-foot-eleven, 194-pound cover man played four seasons at the University of Waterloo and was a big part of the school’s turnaround since his arrival.
Ford recorded six interceptions while playing for the Warriors and was a dynamic kick-returner. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash at the 2022 CFL Combine with a time of 4.42 seconds and recently attended rookie mini-camps with the New York Jets and Pittsburgh Steelers. Ford was a three-time OUA all-star and was twice named a second-team All-Canadian.
The native of Niagara Falls, Ont. will be in training camp on Friday morning.
