The Ottawa Redblacks have signed former Indiana University defensive lineman Weston Kramer.
The six-foot-two, 290-pound native of Naperville, Illinois spent one season at Indiana after transferring from Northern Illinois University in 2021. In his lone season with the Hoosiers, the 23-year-old played in 12 games registering 35 total tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks and one fumble recovery.
While at Northern Illinois, Kramer played in 45 games, starting 30, and amassed 97 total tackles, three-and-a-half sacks, 12.5 tackles for loss and two pass breakups. Kramer was a member of two Northern Illinois teams that made college football bowl games, losing in the the 2017 Quick Lane Bowl to Duke University 36-14 and the 2018 Boca Raton Bowl to the University of Alabama at Birmingham 37-13.

During his time with the Huskies, Kramer was Pro Football Focus third-team All Mid-American Conference (MAC) in 2019 and second-team All-MAC in 2020. In 2021 he was awarded Indiana’s Defensive Newcomer of the Year.
