Longtime CFL assistant coach Cory McDiarmid has been hired as the special teams coordinator and running backs coach of the Panthers Wrocław.
“Excited for this amazing opportunity!” tweeted McDiarmid. “Can’t wait to land in Wroclaw and get to work!
The native of Nanaimo, B.C. most recently served as the special teams coordinator of the Toronto Argonauts in 2019 under head coach Corey Chamblin. He held the same role with the Edmonton Elks from 2016 to 2018 under head coach Jason Maas.

McDiarmid won a Grey Cup while serving as an assistant with the B.C. Lions in 2000 and again with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2013. He also won the Vanier Cup in 1997 while serving on staff with the University of British Columbia Thunderbirds.
The Panthers were founded in 2013 and play in the European League of Football (ELF). The club finished 6-4 but lost in the semifinal round of the postseason to the Hamburg Sea Devils by a score of 30-27.
