Edmonton Elks record highest single-day season ticket sales in franchise history: report

The Edmonton Elks are under new management and they are already reaping the rewards.

If you’ve been on social media at all this week, chances are you were aware the team ran a 72-hour season ticket drive to sell off seats for the low price of $99. What you may not have realized is just how historic the results would end up being.

According to green and gold play-by-play man Morley Scott: The Elks 72-hour 99 dollar season seat sale ended yesterday. The club not releasing numbers – but says it was very successful. Monday saw them sell more season seats than any day in franchise history.”

If the team’s reported numbers are correct, that would mean the Elks sold more seats on February 21 than any day since their founding in 1949.

Typically one of the most well-attended venues in the league, Commonwealth Stadium looked painfully empty for stretches last year as fans made their frustration known about the handling of the organization both on and off the field.

That appears set to change in 2022, as new club president Victor Cui is on a mission to reconnect with the local community and early on, it seems to be working.
