The B.C. Lions have signed American wide receiver Hakeem Butler.

The 25-year-old was selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals. He suffered a season-ending hand injury in his first training camp and resurfaced with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2020. He was activated for two regular season contests before attending training camp with the Carolina Panthers in 2021.

The Baltimore native suited up for 37 games over three seasons at Iowa State, making 110 receptions for 2,149 yards and 18 touchdowns. Butler earned second-team All-American honours from The Athletic and College Football News in 2018.
